Beginning in the kitchen at a young age and eventually finding her place behind the bar, Ezra Star has worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for many years. She spent years studying biochemistry and Public Health as a means to understand complex structures, but the drive to understand people brought Ezra from the lab to the world of hospitality.
In 2011 Star began working at Drink, Barbara Lynch Gruppo’s award winning cocktail bar in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood. In 2012 Ezra completed the rigorous BAR 5-day bartender program and was also a part of the leadership team that helped win Drink the 2013 Spirited Awards' “World's Best Bar." In her various roles behind the bar and as the General Manager of Drink, Ezra is responsible for all aspects of the spirit and cocktail program, including product sourcing, education, and team development.
In addition to overseeing Drink, Ezra has consulted on numerous bar designs/buildouts, and bar training programs. She has also given presentations at cocktail conferences, and has been featured in Playboy, Food and Wine, and numerous spirit journals. In 2015, Ezra was recognized as a StarChefs Rising Star and named one of Food and Wine’s “Best New Mixologists."
